I grew up on a farm, moved to the city to train as a musician. Art and education are both powerful practices that impact people in weird and wonderful ways—later, I did a PhD to try and understand a little more of the ways these two fields go together. Today I work on both sides of the fence.

Musically, I mainly write, record, and perform with Jo Davie—all the links and current tour dates are here.

Academically, I hold the position of Research Fellow at the Centre for Research in Assessment and Digital Learning, at Deakin University. As a researcher, I’m interested in how we come to know quality, how we express ourselves in situations where quality matters, and how education helps and/or hinders our ways of knowing and creating.
